The slime will retain your intelligence but will add new feral impulses and or new memories pertaining to your new role. The infection itself isn’t focused on making you a mindless husk it’s making you into a new foot soldier for them. It doesn’t force you to act but rather mentally overloads you to the point where you can’t distinguish reality from fiction any more.
