Heh, I'm still 20 :p Thankfully, my parents totally support my furryness. In fact, my mom wants professional photos of the suit. I'm lucky she doesn't want to hang it on the fridge :|

Just ease them into it slowly and make it sound as cute as possible. I've always been weird, and I love to make stuff and dress up, so making a costume like this was normal for me... Have you considered making a suit? Tell them it's a hardcore Halloween costume.

Oh man, there are tons of suit makers, I couldn't list them all. I watch quite a few of them to pick up pointers and such. And there's a fursuit group on livejournal (just type fursuit in google, and it should come up). It comes down to what type of suit you want, and how much you can afford to pay.

lawl, more like Super Adrenaline Kri. I had a week stuck at home with nowhere to go and a truckload of movies and just powered through. Did you use a duct tape dummy? It went so smoothly this time just pinning pieces on and making sure they all fit right.

Nope I cheated since mine is just the upper half and cut apart a snug fitting t-shirt and used that for the pattern. That way I could draw in the belly fluff and cut it all apart and sew it all together easy. I do want to get a full suit eventually and for that I'll prolly make a duct tape dummy.
