I made it back to the Nest, bounty in tow. The Baliff was surprised to see Oscar, but appreciative. The bounty was 800c, but he gave a further 400c for keeping him alive. Should help cover my food expenses for the return trip.
Got the privilege to personally chuck this asshole into his cell. Felt good to finally be rid of him. I gave the Baliff his belongings, even his weapons. Wasn't anything I already had, and nothing worth selling.
Out of curiosity, I did ask the Baliff what Oscar's fate would be, but he tells me its too soon to tell. He stole over 10,000c worth of valuables and credits, so punishment must be harsh. The victims will get their restitution and justice, he tells me as he takes the golden ring away from Oscar. I'm going to be optimistic here and assume it was a stolen item to be returned with its true owner.
As I left the police station towards the last known location of these specific highwaymen, I noticed the nearby gallows. A noose swinging and a bounty poster dancing in the wind. The rustle, faint in sound, but loud in volume. The words of the Baliff echo in my head. Punishment must be harsh.
