"Are you ready to be IMPressed?! The Great and Powerful Morgiana, Mistress of Illusion, makes her grand appearance!"
Faebruary: I am very excited to share this monthlong project with you all! Regular viewers of this channel will know that a lot of my creative focus goes into Kroashent, my ongoing fantasy series. There's a ton of background lore for the series, so I thought it might be fun and helpful to run a little project to introduce to viewers new and old, to the characters and creatures of Kroashent, with a twist!
For the month of February (or rather "Faebruary!" I will be posting drawings of the characters of Kroashent as different creatures from Alvez, their world. To begin, these creatures will be the "Tuath", the sapient, social creatures of the world (think the playable species of D&D). (We'll address the beasties and things that go bump in the night in a future project)
Morgiana: Morgiana is a mischief maker at heart, a playful trickster who relies on her cleverness to get her into and out of trouble. A former slave and dancing girl from far off Ubar, she fled a gang of vicious bandits to start a new life in Letha. Morgiana assists her friends in the "Forthaves Vinegar Company" with her powerful illusion magic and quick wits.

Gargoul: The Korrigan of the Mountains. The Gargoul are not originally from Letha, but rather the cold forests and mountains to the East. Adapted to living on windswept cliffsides, these small imps have adapted well to living in the castles and Cathedrals of the West. Naturally curious and often mechanically gifted, they love to tinker with complex machinery and carry out convoluted pranks.

Val's Notes: Morgiana really "clicks" as a gargoul, and its always a joy to draw her as one. Her impish energy really comes across without needing to force it. Initially, I wasn't planning on this being the series I did, but I really liked how she turned out, which started the whole process. Morgiana is inspired by a character of the same name from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, while the Gargoul are inspired by the gargoyles of gothic cathedrals and the gremlins of British aviation folklore.
