It's not a helmet but a face shield that I picked out of an issue of APPLESEED manga by Shirow Masamune. As for the colors of her uniform they were what I thought would look good on her. Originally I considered maroon and gold but settled on the dark blue and yellow. And if I remember correctly the Xmen wore black and yellow.
