Last Lazlo Laffs 1

I worked for DC Comics for over ten years. During that time I worked primarily on the Cartoon Network line of comics drawing Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, and Camp Lazlo stories. In the spring of 2009 I was in the middle of drawing a Lazlo story when my editor called to tell me that the CN line of comedy comics were being cancelled. It seemed that CN wanted to convert to all-action programming, and they felt the comedy comics would hurt their new image (Funnily enough, in the winter of 2008, I tried to sell CN a new comedy show, unaware of the great plan they had to get rid of their comedies.)
My editor told me to invoice for the work I had already done, but I was not to complete the story. So here are the ruff pencils from this final unpublished six page Camp Lazlo comic, from a story written by Jim Alexander. The pencils were light at this stage, so I've cranked the contrast for the sake of legibility. In this story, Raj and Lazlo feel that Clam is far too ticklish, and want to help him get over it.

you have worked on things others can only dream of doing ;o;~
Yeah that worked out well for them.
Great work on the strip, didn't you do some stuff for their Looney Tunes comics too?
Cartoon Network! If it's funny, it ain't here!
