Secret Santa - Georgie Husky
I really love participating in Secret Santa <3 Despite it always being in a rather busy time of year, there's just something incredibly very fun about getting to create a piece for someone for the pure joy of it.
I was absolutely delighted when my friend Georgie's name appeared for me, and so I got to work and tried to really challenge myself this time through painting a stylised watercolour landscape. It's inspired by one of the nature reserves near where I live, where I'll actually be taking Georgie on a hike to later this month :D Hopefully, the weather will be merciful.
Backgrounds of this type will be an option for watercolour commissions, but be aware that they can take longer to produce, as it's still quite new to me. It has definitely been a fun learning experience so far!
This piece was painted on Strathmore 300g/m2 watercolour paper (though it always feels more like 250 at most to me, but I quite like the grain).
