Commission - Christmas Meerkat
I had the absolute pleasure of getting to paint my dear friend 
Thabo's Christmas card last year!
The idea he had for the scene to be depicted was so cute, and getting to paint the snow and trees in the background was very fun. Fun fact, in watercolours, you can create the cloudy texture in the sky through sprinkling salt on wet watercolours, which is a neat trick I'm still working on mastering.
I definitely don't get to paint skunktaurs often, so that was a very fun challenge! But I think she turned out cute <3
This was painted on Schut Terschelling Smooth 300g/m2 watercolour paper, and painted with both Winsor & Newton Cotman and Van Gogh watercolours. The light highlights were created with white gelpen this time (though I usually use white gouache).
