Roxi Rails ~ Battle Beast Character Select Portrait
A 'Character Select' Portrait of Roxi Rails for my fictional fighting game, Battle Beasts. This is a character who jointly belongs to me and my friend, PlatinumSnow. After arson devastates his life, this wolf enters the battle to revive his shattered dreams, and hunt the one responsible.
Roxi had always been a lover, not a fighter. Through hard work, ambition and a little bit of rule-bending, the young wolf had realised his dream of opening his own nightclub; The Neon Pulse. A club which quickly became famous. The neon-lit, pulse-pounding venue became a favourite hot spot in the city, its electric atmosphere, bizarre cocktails and delightful owner drawing in crowds from far and wide. Even celebrities would frequent Neon Pulse, unable to resist the amazing new club.
However, Roxi's dream come true would soon turn into a nightmare. The Neon Pulse, which had rarely had any serious problems, soon found itself tainted by an influx of drug dealers selling on the premises. Roxi had always demanded a zero-tolerance policy for illegal activity in his club, and soon, he had his staff identifying the individuals responsible, having more than a dozen anthros arrested. It was a small scandal in the press, but it soon blew over, and Roxi believed his club was safe once again. Until she arrived...
One lively evening, Roxi was informed that a certain individual had arrived to speak with him directly, and unfortunately, the wolf boy knew only too well who she was. Realising the gravity of the situation, Roxi agreed to meet with his 'guest'. She was already notorious, an up-and-coming crime boss who had already decimated half of her competition, and was spreading her influence through the city. The dealers that had been arrested were some of hers... However, rather than seeking retribution, the crime boss proposed a deal. Roxi would continue to run his club, but he would allow her people to operate on its grounds unimpeded - after all, Neon Pulse was a perfect place to 'acquire new clients' for her product. That, and she could potentially get dirt on some big names and celebrities.
Roxi outright refused. He would not allow his beloved club to become another cog in her wheel of organised crime. And just like that, the meeting was over... and the repercussions were soon to follow.
The following day, while the club was closed to the public, a group of anthros broke in, confronting Roxi. It was no secret who had sent them, nor what they intended to do. Roxi was viciously beaten, a personal message for refusing a 'perfectly fair deal', and when he was bruised and bloody, his precious club was put to the torch. Roxi was left behind in the blaze. Managing to drag himself from his private penthouse, through the back halls of his burning dream, Roxi escaped the inferno, but Neon Pulse was utterly destroyed by the fire. His home, his business, his dream - his life was now ashes.
After months of trying to rebuild, Roxi found his every effort sabotaged, and the crushing weight of his loss threatened to drag him down. That is, until word of the Battle Beast tournament reached him. Torn between the desire to get his old life back and taking revenge on the criminals who had destroyed it, Roxi had all the motivation he needed to enter the fight. But... how could a wolf with no real experience in fighting hope to win?
Roxi decided to use his one advantage; the natural toxins that reside in his bodily fluids. His entire life, Roxi had been blessed with the ability to intoxicate someone with just a kiss, making them putty in his hands. And while he had rarely used it for his own gain, he would use his gift now with reckless abandon. Having a special mask produced to harness the toxins from his saliva, even from his very breath, Roxi would use his trump card to ensure his victory. In the months leading up to the tournament, Roxi did his best to hone his fighting skills, and now, with the battle about to begin, the wolf is ready to revive his club. His dream would rise from the ashes once more!
"Just breathe deeply. I promise, you'll feel better in no time..."

Thank you so much ^_^ It has been a hot minute, I know. Trying to make time to draw has been a little tricky. Hopefully I can fix that!
I'm glad to get back to BB; it was bumming me out that my big ambitious project was just languishing. It's unlikely we'll get anyone else jumping in with their OCs now after so long, so I'm determined to stack the roster myself with some of my own characters and then we can get it finished.
And thank you, I'm glad you liked Roxi's story. Admittedly, I was having a hard time coming up with a wish for him - why would such a fun-loving boy living such a blessed life want to enter a fighting tournament? So I had to be kind of mean to my boy to give him an excuse ^^'
