SkunknFriends Introducing one more social connection from our always optimistic Cookie, an old foe turned shakey friend. Wilda Walter!
The doe Wilda grew up in a line of executives for a military tech company that offered services like security, weapons, and the latest in combat cybernetics to anyone that paid. Anything from a fellow corp waging war with one of their own, to a group of ideologues looking to prove a point. She was sent to school early with the other corpo kids, learning how to be proper, given a sense of business, and what it takes to survive in this cutthroat profession.
Wilda had no issue in school, she passed her education swimmingly and was provided rank within the military tech corp as an exec. She was in charge of small arms deals in the city of Prospera, particularly with those the corp labeled as "Community Watch." What regular chooms would call "Gangers." The doe was ruthless, and went above and beyond to keep her superiors happy. Even going as far as to offer discounts to any gangs that deliberately robbed and destroyed any competitor's shop fronts.
As Ms. Walter was making headway with her career, she began to notice that some of her delivery trucks had been going missing, and some shipments were arriving lighter than they should have. She even found one convoy of trucks with cargo completely destroyed and with some kind of calling card left behind. A crudely little character with long ears, maybe a rabbit?
It wasn't long before Wilda had been informed by some of her contacts that a couple of runners had started making their name known in the biz.. A couple of rabbits with one going by the alias of Cookie and her boyfriend. Wilda had concluded that it had to be them messing with her operations.. Not for long. She hired extra trucks, more armed guards. When those didn't work she hired the company's internal hitmen to find and eliminate them, but even that didn't work! They always came up short handed, or zero'd themselves! All the while that same stupid calling card kept appearing, and finally a message reading:
"Come get us."
She would.. She would if it was the last thing she ever did!
Wilda spent the next year hunting and chasing the runner rabbits, even intercepting them on a few of her deliveries. Getting the jump on them and chasing them off, she had a personal driver to escort and chase them down while she shot at them. They always managed to get away, and always carried a smile on their face. Their trouble-stirring grins burned into her brain every time they got away. Before too long though, the doe was just on the cusp of finding their home and completing her goal of icing a few pesky runners. Before she could start seriously planning though, she got some rather sudden news from her clientele. The rabbits weren't running anymore. They called it quits. Peculiar, perhaps they caught wind she was on their little cotton tails and decided to save their fur. None the less, problem solved she thought to herself, and began to return to regular operation as she'd been distracted from this side project for a good while.
All seemed well for a couple of years as Wilda had returned to business as usual. Her deliveries were all protected and sent with only the usual amount of trouble, nothing that her normal staff couldn't handle. One day though, the doe learned just how cruel the business world could be. A new group of execs came in, performing a literal hostile takeover of her division. Her subordinates were either bribed, demoted, or forcibly removed one way or another to leave the exec vulnerable. From there her assets were seized, and when she tried to put up a fight, she was beaten and tossed out into the rain, left for dead.
The doe lay in a dark alley, severely wounded and without her ambulance subscription card. Of all the people that could have found her, in all of Prospera. It was her. That brown furred spotted rabbit. This time though, she didn't carry that awful grin, and her legs were different. She seemed like an entirely different person, even. Right as she passed out, she could feel herself being lifted by the woman and taken to safety.
Fast forward a couple of years, and Wilda has patched herself up with what remaining assets she had and some help from the old runner. She now works as a fixer, providing runners with rather creative means of work using old contacts from her corpo life. She doesn't really talk to Cookie much anymore since she helped her back on her feet, the girl seems more interested in sulking in her own misery after her boyfriend kicked the bucket and she lost her legs. Companionship is just a distraction anyway, and I don't see why someone would be so upset about getting state of the art legs. She thought to herself. Still, she was okay with leaving her old enemy be until one day she receives a call.. The doe's eyes glow as she answers. The voice was familiar.
"Hey Wilda.. Hope that you're doing good. So. I'm thinking of getting back in the runner game. I've got a buddy that's gonna be tagging along, she's fresh but she's got spunk. You got anything for us?"
"For a troublemaker like you? I think I can find figure something out.. Come by my office, and bring your new friend. Plan to stay a bit, I have wine."

Oooo! Looking tough and gruff, but also pretty. ^!^ Love her long, brown, ponytail. Looking stylish and practical for her job! ^!^ And goes well with her fur and eyes. ^!^ And the plain gray shirt is very professional too. But the way it's unbuttoned at the top shows she's loosened up a bit. Hehe! ^!^ Also brings out her brighter colors. ^!^ (You love drawing attention the the chest area like that with similar styled shirts across all 3 cyberpunks. Hehe. Love the matching theme!) Also love how her fur and hair are kinda like a gradient. ^!^ Going from light tan, to light brown, to brown. Hehe! ^!^ Ooo! I just realized her hair is brown like antlers! Clever! ^!^ And those green eyes standing out amongst the brown like leaves on a tree. (And the bg matches them, yay! ^!^) Hehe. ^!^ So lovely, such a soothing color combo. And so ironic, given her personality and intensely serious expression. XD Love the way her ears are flopped as part of it! Hehe. So serious. ^!^ And the way her eyes look, combined with that position (for lack of a better word) for her lips, she's reminding me of Samurai Jack when he gets serious! Hehehe! Awesome! And the cybernetics. The way there's some on her cheek highlighting her eye, and 1 pointing towards her ear, and then 1 going up her neck like a vein with a bright blue circle in the middle just adds the right touch to show she's a serious cyber gal!
All fits so well with her story! Hehe! Someone to challenge the rabbit runners! Someone they never thought of in a negative light, but certainly loved giving a hard time to! XD Raised to be so serious and so militaristic and cold. Only to be met with her polar opposites! Love it! ^!^ She was a real villain. Someone poisoned and turned into a devil that ran the oppressive machine that picked on anyone unable to defend themselves. Only to find out that, well, evil doesn't care who it hurts for the sake of power. Even her. Betrayed and left for dead by the very type of monsters that molded her. That it was the big dogs who she should have been paying attention too, not the little rabbits. (Assuming she did learn that.) And in her darkest hour, she's shown kindness by Cookie. ^!^ Aww. Someone who truly cares. Who can, hopefully, show her the value of companionship while healing herself.
But she's still got a long way to go to learn to drop her materialistic ways and see the cybernetic balls and chains that Cookie carries for what they are. She's off to a good start. Hehe. ^!^ Instead of working with evil criminals, she's working with good/neutral ones! XD Yay! ^!^

Thank you!! I am quite happy with how she turned out. A no nonsense hardcore woman that looks pretty and pretty serious too. Just as a corpo should look, I think! Her natural color really lets the cybernetics and her intense gaze really pop, so I'm glad that you notice all these details!
I'm happy you like her story too! It was fun giving the runner duo some to antagonize for a while, some light hearted fun while they very deliberately perform jobs that mess with corps and their operations. You're very right, corps don't have morality or any sense of loyalty. They'll cut down anyone for the sake of the bottom line, and for those inside achieving their sinister ambitions. Especially one of their own! Of course at our lowest points we can find salvation in the most unlikely of places, such as your old sworn enemy who looks just as beaten by life as you are.
Wilda certainly has a long way to go with morality. Her days as a fixer are certainly to forward some kind of goal of hers, likely to get back at the corp that left her for dead. We'll certainly see!

You're welcome, hun!! ^!^ Looking like her personality in anthro form! ^!^ And absolutely! ^!^ You said what I was trying to say, but simpler. XD Lol. Honestly, happy to have art like yours that has so many details for me to notice. I LOVE the stimulation! I NEED it! XD (That's why I love stuff like D&D! XD)
Hehe! ^!^ Their own frienemy. ^!^ (Who they consider a frienemy, at least. XD)
As I said, those corporations are like devils. Or yugoloths even. honestly, good thing evil is always willing to hurt evil, or good would be in bigger trouble. XD
Yupy yup yup! ^!^ True mercy and kindness knows no bounds. ^!^
Indeed. She's got an opportunity to choose and learn. but what will she choose? Heroism? Revenge? Something else? Hehe! I love the wealth of possibilities! ^!^ Such a good story element! ^!^
