Gypsy got in the pool for the first time today. She LOVED it.
Here she is modeling her vest pre-swimming.

She does have the most adorable smile, doesn't she?
She really really enjoyed the pool, which makes me so happy. I thought we would have to build her up to with lots of praise and treats, but after a moment of confusion, she was having a blast, playing fetch and swimming around like a little pro. I took her out after only 10 minutes though, I don't want her to overdo it. We will gradually build up to greater lengths of time :)

Awesome! Some dogs can just jump right into new things. Last year at a "bark in the park" event my husky/collie mix Wahya came face to face with an agility course for the very first time. I was amazed how fast she took to it! She even ran through the "scary tunnel" without hesitation, and followed my signals through the weaves. Never introduced mine to a pool...might hafta do that sometime XD
Gypsy has always been like that! She is game for almost anything. The only things we've tried that she didn't like was weight pulling, walking on the treadmill, and running with the bike.
I had her do some fly ball course just on a whim when we were visiting some online friends who have their dogs in it, and she charged in full throttle on the jumps.
At a weight pull event (which she wasn't participating in, lol) they had an agility course set up and she went through the tunnel without a hitch.
I had her in Schutzhund (german dog sport) for a while, and she absolutely adored it. I chose to pull her out due to her joints and because the commute was too much at the time (nearly two hours both ways).
She's just the greatest dog. Thats all there is to it.
