Descent
A single crack, the smallest tear,
And light begins to disappear.
The air grows thick, the walls close in,
A whispered ache beneath the skin.
The weight of grief, it slowly winds,
A tether pulling at my mind.
Each step I take, the darker it grows,
A spiral down where no one knows.
The echoes call, but not my name,
Just ghosts of joy I cannot claim.
And in this hollow, I remain,
A quiet prisoner to the pain.
