Harald Bjørn is my old nickname. Yes, I used to like the Scandinavian theme, especially Norwegian. Fun fact - I came up with my bear character at 8 years old when I was creating a crossover of bears from different cartoons as heroes for the Heroes of Might and Magic game series, particularly the fifth part
At that time, I only lacked a polar bear, so I invented Harley. I really liked him, and he became my personal character. When I met the furry fandom, he became my fursona. My friend decided to immerse me in this nostalgia
Initially, my bear was a runic priest in the Northern Clans faction, or simply a Dwarf. I think I even tried making art on this theme before, but my focus shifted to new preferences. I believe in the future it might be worth creating some art on this theme as a tribute to my bear's past
What do you think, should I?
Art by my beloved
. Very soon, we’ll meet in real life, and I’m really looking forward to it. Shiroi!

I’ve come up with a little storyline for my bear in this heroic setting: Harald was created by the mages of the Silver Cities as a failed experiment with beastmen. A runic priest purchased him, deciding to present the anthropomorphic polar bear to King Tolghar of Grimheim.
This unusual figure was entrusted to the care of Jarl Wulfstan, who raised the child into a warrior. He appointed Harald as the captain of the city guard in Thor Hral, a border city near the Duchy of Stag in the Griffin Empire. His service was exemplary, and he lived up to his lord’s expectations.
Later, when the Demon Queen seized power in the Empire and declared war on Grimheim over Prince Andrias, Harald was among the first defenders of the border. When Wulfstan was declared a traitor, Harald took his side. The rebellion in the city was quickly crushed, and the bear was imprisoned. However, his mastery of rune magic saved his life before his execution—he managed to escape.
The High Priest Hangvul declared Harald a traitor and excommunicated him from the cult of Arkath, the Dragon of Fire. Around this time, Harald learned the truth about his origin and the fact that he was purchased like a commodity. This revelation plunged him into a deep existential crisis, but he managed to hold himself together and took part in the war against the demon army in the Empire. However, after receiving a mortal wound, he could no longer fight.
The priests of Elrath, the Dragon of Light, were able to heal him, but he could no longer battle as he once did. Realizing that he no longer had a place in the world and could never find a home, he took advantage of the chaos in the Empire's cities, turning to underground activities and banditry. People saw him as a monster and sought to burn him at the stake, but he managed to amass enough gold through illicit means to continue his journey into the unknown.
Eventually, he made his way to the Free Cities, where the situation was relatively calm. In taverns and brothels, drowning his mental trauma in hedonism and debauchery, he heard of a mysterious land on the southern archipelago, Hashima, where anyone in need could find sanctuary. Understanding that his life was spiraling out of control and that he had fallen from an honorable warrior to a drunkard and libertine, he resolved to save enough gold—this time through the honest craft of smithing—and embarked on what he thought would be his final journey to the south.
On his way, his ship encountered a powerful storm. The vessel was wrecked, but Harald, being a naturally strong and enduring swimmer, managed to reach the nearest shore, albeit injured and battered. There, he was found by a local Pearl Priestess who offered him shelter and treatment. A few years earlier, she had a vision that a child of the northern seas would come to her sanctuary. To her shock, this prophecy came true—no one in those lands had ever seen a polar bear, let alone one versed in rune magic.
Hearing his story, the priestess offered Harald the chance to be baptized in the name of Shalassa, the Dragon of Water, and find a home in these prosperous lands. He agreed. The bear pledged allegiance to the Eternal Empress, and a local daimyo took the experienced warrior into his service. Harald adopted a new name, Harihaido, and began to reevaluate his life, immersing himself in the culture and philosophy of the local people.
He participated in local conflicts against necromancers and orcs, eventually earning the rank of Samurai. As for what happened next, that’s a story to develop later. This opens up the Eastern setting I’m working on, where the bear truly takes on the image of a samurai.
I think the story turned out quite sweet and cool, and it fits nicely into the game’s lore. Well, my imagination is running wild again OwO
