Danielle (Dragon Lady) and Karyn (Bombshell), accompanied by their significant others Todd (Silver Dragon) and Althea (Star Power), pay a visit and their respects to Danielle's father.
Other than a couple of small details, this scene could be relatively the same in the "regular" universe of these characters. This also marks the first time I've drawn any these characters in their civilian identities.
I dedicate this image to my own father, the only one in my family who really understood why it was important to me that I draw and whom I miss very much today and every day for the past four and a half years.

(*Nods slowly*) And oddly, at first, I thought of the opening to 'Grayson' ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiZuvJ48MZ0 )
you're welcome my friend; I wish I'd gotten to know my Grandfather better before he died, and I keep close links to my dad, so I can very much appreciate what a loss that would be for me. I hope he finds even the furry work a wonder, especially with how happy you make those who see it.
Your father, and my grandfather. I only lost him recently, but it seems like the sentiment is the same.
Much of who we are today, we are because of them. We owe them more than we can give, and they would never have asked it of us anyway.
Awesome piece todd. Very rare is the artist that can move people with their art the way you have with this.

I lost both of my grandfathers back in 1997 just months apart, so I don't have them either. Or my grandmothers for that matter. I tried my best to repay my paternal grandmother in her final years by taking care of her and keeping her out of a nursing home but I don't know if I even came close to doing that.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Todd's father was the original Silver Dragon. Danielle's father was a police officer who died in the tragedy that created the cemetery everyone is standing in right now. He did have some powers but didn't use them much and remained a police officer until he died.
Silver Dragon I almost died in the same tragedy but Dani's dad threw him clear of most of the effect just barely in time. That Silver prematurely aged a few years which is why he looks so much older than his contemporaries like Star and Bombshell.
