I blame these guys:
Zeelo
Lockely Fox Aeonlord, and Tobi
In case you're curious why I'm such a FREAK. /jk
But basically, I REALLY REALLY REALLY Wanted to turn into an animal/Have animal traits as a kid.
This also does not include the copious amounts of gender bender I read as an egg. Which was. So Much. Oh 2008-2011 was a time....
I never really was into drawing Transformation sequences until I got a lot of positive reception to them, now they're so fun. I've always just liked a character to have multiple forms, usually that represents something, or just because I like animals.
How about you?

TF has always been a fun imaginary escape for me to get through stress at home, school, and the horrors of body dysphoria. :D
Now I love to draw all sorts of silly TF. I will draw almost any so long as it's SFW. Not big on object TF though for some reason, I guess I just like fur and stuff.
+ANIMA: This manga got me wanting to make comics. I remember crying on my front porch a few times in middle school while a family member had an angry mental breakdown, wishing I could fly away like in +ANIMA. My family member needed a lot of help they never got while I was growing up. Also: I'm basically a furry. I want animal appendages. I want wings. Ears. Tail. Gimme.
Teen Titans: Holy HECK I think the episode with Starfire came out when I was in like.... 2nd or 3rd grade and I just zoned out after watching the preview like: "Oh no, what if Starfire leaves the teen titans, I'm so sad for her." Instead of paying attention in class. This episode STRESSED ME OUT. I HATED how sad Starfire was. :( I was so happy at the end when everyone still loved her. Beast Boy is best. I wanted his powers so baaaaaaaaaaaaad.
Fruits Basket: Aww Heck yeah, middle school. I used to walk around to class avoiding everyone, pretending if I bumped into them I'd turn into an animal. This show is also super special to me. It got me through middle school, and was so kind. It's one of my favorite animes still. My love of a gentle moment with a little TF'd person promptly ended by a comical POOF back into a human comes from this show. Makes you Cry and Laugh. It came on after Case Closed on COLORS / Funimation TV hence why I learned about it.
Tokyo Mew Mew / A La Mode:]/b] I WANT. ANIMAL. EARS. AND TAIL. SO BAD. GIVE THEM. TO ME. I WANT TO JUMP LIKE A BUNNY. THE CHARACTERS IN THIS SHOW ARE CARDBOARD.
[b]Case Closed: Thus began the love of Age Regression. (Though it always pissed me off when it ended up being sorta perverted. But conan shouting CURRY RICE! CURRY RICE! CURRY RICE! is my favorite. I love whenever he's back to his regular form and he forgets hes not a kid and talks like Conan. its so silly. Also: DAMN he feels like hes melting when he shrinks? OUCH.)
Majora's Mask: HELLO HORRIFYING TRANSFORMATIONS AND GETTING TURNED INTO A KID? A PLAYFUL IMP? MY CUP OF TEA. BUNNY HOOD FOR LIFE. KAFEI AND ANJU MY BELOVEDS the art direction slaps.
Jak And Daxter: "You've finally taken a much needed bath, but in a bathtub FILLED with DARK ECO." - "Are you gonna help me out old man, are you go gonna keep yappin!?" - "I'm gonna keep Yappin! Because in my professional opinion, the change is an improvement. Besides, I couldn't help you even if I wanted to." - is etched into my bones. Check it out on X-ray.
Inuyasha: BIG influence. I love me a character with multiple forms. Idk if you can tell, but my silly purple elf guy totally riffs off of Inuyasha.
The Thirteeth Year: Dude,....... I wanted fins so bad. Dude. I love swimming. DUDE. I WANT FINS.
Ranma 1/2: I LOVED it until Happosai showed up. HATE that guy. Now after watching the 2024 one it's got me pondering Genderfluid rather than Trans Masc. lol. GOSH I wish I could turn into both and boy and a girl. HECK. Dreading Happosai's introduction in season 2.
And one day maybe I'll find that Language Arts packet, but I'm not holding my breath.
Thanks for coming to my TF talk.

ayyy +Anima is a GREAT manga. why has there not been an anime for it?!
And oh, what got me into TF? Kim Possible and Xiaolin Showdown! Both for the year of the monkey back in like 2004 had characters going through monkey transformations, and i thought it was the COOLEST thing! god i wanted to be a monkey so fucking bad...It helped with my fitness and getting STUPID STRONG (i squat 465lbs, bench 375, deadlift 545 lmao), got decent at handstands (best hold was 13 seconds), it helps also that humans are rather similar to monkeys haha. Aaaah, memories...

Heya! I loved Mew Mew Power and Fruits Basket (I mean - I still do, actually) and also like transformation as a concept. I wanted to be a kemonomimi (person with animal ears, tails, etc.) or a werewolf or just anything slightly not human, and often would play pretend as such things to escape my not-so-stellar circumstances.
I dunno where this comment is going exactly, just that it's cool to see another user with similar interests/feelings!
