Religion: The Xouaka religion is primarily duotheistic, following the greater gods Mukuria and Xalkiun... Beyond these two, there are four lesser gods, seen primarily as aspects of Mukuria and Xalkiun, though various cults in the past have elevated them to higher positions. One such lesser god is Sonarue: Administrator of knowledge and keeper of the Eternal Desert, the realm in which the souls of the deceased roam until Sonarue sends them to Mukuria for reimplantation within the world.
Sonaure does not have a ritual for academic successes, finding reward simply in the pleasure some Xouaka receive from reaping his blessings. His ritual is performed after the individual’s death, with an immolation of several precious items to the deceased as well as an effigy of their form, the ashes being placed into their casket as the body is interred.

Here's the third piece I commed from
LS0Tapok depicting Akihota performing in a ritual for a lesser god of her people, Sonaure! In her outfit from here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50259228/ she is performing a sort of deliverance ceremony upon the effigy of a deceased member of her peoples, before the traditional immolation. I reckon in the days of the past, the effigy was actually the individual themselves, either too old or too sick to be of use (similar to Attestupa) to the tribe, but as they become industrialized, perhaps this has fallen out of favor? Regardless, as an adherent to Sonaure, Akihota is more than happy to display her devotion to her patron lesser lord, and the cycle of Reimplantation!
