"Humansssss," the dragon said, drawing the word out as if he was tasting it. One of his alarmingly bright hazel eyes drew close to fill your vision. Every twitch and dilation of the platter-sized eye pefectly clear as his gaze pinned you in place. "Yes, some humans are trusted. But they are so fragile, and need protected as well."
Unless provoked, most of them aren't. The exception are the two-legged "digger" dragons. Which are juvenile sea dragons. They are very much full of anger and it is generally advised for humans to just not interact with them. Most of that is their innate aggressive behavior, but a lot of the anger comes from the lives they had as humans. Most of them are former victims of human trafficking and enslavement.
