I forget where I scanned this one from, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen it online.
Anyway, my other favorite character from the Xanadu series, Kinomon Firestar the Golden Dragon. Once a warrior, then a thief together with Tabbe le Fauve and Jonathan (and really Vicky, we needed to see at least one story of how a Noble like Kinomon was able to live down in the Wallows with those two), and all unknowing the last child of Joo-Sama the Golden Mother, he was a deeply honorable if somewhat headstrong dragon. He was practically a paladin in all the good ways and a really likable character.
She also had plans for future stories involving him and the Black Dragon assassin Kurushinju, with Kino and Kuru eventually becoming the rulers of the reunited dragon clans.
I still wish I'd remembered to get some actual commission art of Kinomon from Vicky when I still could.

I really felt sorry for him and Firepetal. I don't get why people sympathise with Reginald Plume when its clear, he was always a racist, backstabbing, murderous psycho. Alicia's "games" just helped expose it more. And when he realised he killed Firepetal and not Kinomon, he doesn't even express remorse for killing Firepetal but rather more concerned with his place in the palace, and just ran away like a coward. A character like that is not deserving of sympathy.
The sympathy for 'poor Reggie' always leaves me feeling cold as well.
And just about everyone felt sorry for Firepetal and Kinomon back when first reading the comic. It was a big shock at the time to see the the hero's (well, one of the heroes) lady love get killed of like that. On a dramatic level it worked very well. It reinforced that no one was safe in this story, and literally anyone could die. I was convinced after seeing Firepetal get killed that we were going to see Fatima end up dead too.

Like, Tabbe is apparently a "demon" for merely seducing a maiden to keep any alarms from being raised but "poor old Reggie is so misunderstood" despite resorting to murdering those who threaten his position and doesn't care who he hurts as long as he maintains his position. No one like that deserves sympathy.
