One of the mecha I had this designed after, the Huckebein Mk II, does have a giant crotch cannon. But I think that's just a bit on the silly side. So the giant arm-mounted shield cannon will have to do. :D

Er, no. It was made up by Dragen. It looks just like the character. He even says that it was his own idea. Besides all that, it was drawn a few years ago.

first and foremost... what were you aiming for?

A robot based on a similiar build as my main character with long range capabilities. Up close the right arm cannon is used as a shield though keeping things at a distance is more my style.

well, if you're aiming for a Gundam SEED-style unit, fred perry got it down nicely. but that's all i see going for it.

Wasn't meant to fit into a particular Gundam show unless you count the fact that it's controlled via the Mobile Trace system used in G-Gundam. It's not like I based it to look like a windmill after all. XD I thought you might have recognized a lil Huckebein Mk II influence in the design though.

not really. considering 1) the Huckebein series is based off a basic Gundam design schematic, 2) is designed by Hajime Katoki, who designed a lot of canon Gundam units, and 3) ever since the advent of the Gundam SEED universe, mobile suits have started carrying hyper-powered superweapons, you'd have to be really, REALLY hard-pressed to design something that's based off a Huckebein that CAN'T be traced back to Gundam.

*nods* I knew the Huckebein was based on the basic Gundam design but didn't know it's actual design was by a guy who did canonical Gundam stuff. My design predates the SEED series though. The wings are more a modification of the Nu Gundam's funnel 'wing' from Char's Counterattack, since that's another unit I love.

and i think i might opt out of SRW Z. i'm tired of the franchise's game mechanics being a rehash with slight modifications of previous incarnations, and the fanboy elements are beginning to lose their appeal in me.
