It's hard to tell in this image, but I used a pen tool in MS instead of a flat marker. The slight variance in line width felt really lovely. I was never a fan of thick brushwork in my own drawings and usually stick with a uniform-width drawing instrument, but this pen feels nice.
Whether soft or sharp, these guys are uniformly tender and they always get right to the point.

I am a fan of lines, and trying to get clean lines in PS frustrates me to no end. Hence the scribbles. I'll have to check it out, along with SAI, ArtRage, and a lot of other programs that specialize in different things.
And here I thought going digital was going to simplify things. I may not use my boxes full of art supplies from college, but I'm accumulating just as many software programs and brushes and textures...

Quite a lot of Ctrl+Z going on.
Since I'm posting, I might as well say: My first trial with Manga Studio was quick and dirty and just the first day. The smoothness reminded me of drawing in Illustrator, and I think I might be able to get away with using that. But I'll press on.
