Meet Tater Tot. Call me Tater for short.
It's time I came clean. See... way, way back in the day, when I was just a wee little kid, dragons were my thing. I was obsessed. I wanted to be one more than anything in the world. I -loved- dragons. This even happened before the mouse thing.
I grew up, blah blah blah... and I found out there was this whole world of dragon art, dragon literature, and dragon fans, who had all these ideas of what dragons are and should be, and not a drip of it appealed to me. It felt like the world had already discovered my obsession and decided just what it Was and Wasn't, without my input or consent. Dragons were no longer mine.
Just recently, I was reminded by some very close people in my life that there still was a little dragon living inside me, waiting to be let out again. He wasn't arrogant, or violent, or noble, or graceful, or anything people think dragons are. He was just a goofy little doofus dragon who wanted to play and make friends. He was me!
So now, I present to you, my inner dragon. Him name Tater Tot. It's short for Potato Salad. He's a vegetarian, he can't fly, and he lives in a 1-bedroom apartment, not a castle nor a cave. He speaks plainly and doesn't know a lick of "dragon lore" or magic. And he wants to be friends.
But first, he wants you to check out his sexy jeans.

dragons are kritters of myth and legend. I think they must have existed one time or another (Cus really, dragons are so weird looking where else could their inspiration come from? :I) and we don't know what the are, but what they could be.
... I'm actually working on a story for that myself ;3 ...

*smiles* I'd love to be his friend as well. <3
When I was little, I was also enthralled by dragons, but not because I saw myself as a dragon or wanted to be one.
I simply always wanted one as a friend, but as you had discovered, the dragons out there were beyond such friendship.
They were grandiose, while myself, insignificant. All I wanted was a friend like Tater Tot to just have fun and play with. :D
I love the pose you gave him here, beautifully capturing a carefree, fun-loving personality. <3

I'm surprised to find another person who had the same kind of experience with dragons as I did. Grew up with a dragon obsession, I forget how it started, but Tiamat from "Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher" had something to do with it. Then I gradually saw how dragons were usually portrayed. Mean hideous things in Western lore, bizarre goofy lizard things in Eastern lore. I prefer the friendly gentle dragons that only seem to exist in furry art. Yours seems to be the more mischevious type, but at least he doesn't present a tough exterior like every other popular dragon interpretation does. That's refreshing.
