TRANSCRIPT

The roads were largely uneventful yesterday, and today wasn't any different. There was the occasional passers-by, some on foot, and others in vehicles. I pay them no mind, especially now as I walk alone. This road may actively be patrolled, but I don't trust anyone. Admittedly, I was even hesitant about taking the convoy that I did, but Jared convinced me otherwise.

Still, these roads lead back into the Iron Valleys, so I'll need to be vigilant for any highwaymen. Lots of opportunities here for an ambush.

I've camped just outside the edge of the valley, a good place to hide away from anyone while still keeping a watchful eye on the roads. It is quite windy here, which certainly caused me some annoyance trying to eat some food. Picked a bad day to have a stew, I guess.

But once again, here I am. All alone in this desert without much aim. I appreciate Lily's optimism on the chance of finding someone else like us, but I don't know if that's possible. But, if I do manage to find someone, then I hope they aren't targeted like me. Though if they are, maybe they've been more successful than I am on getting answers.

But I shouldn't get lost in those thoughts again. it's nearing day's end and my mind is still running at full speed. Some more writing and drawing might hopefully slow it down a bit. Let me have some restful sleep.

I can't take my eyes off this pendant Lily gave me. No question its important to her. And now an important reminder of my promise. Just hope I can follow through.
