To the Minotaurs, the Labyrinth is both home and mother.

Stretching out from within secret, hidden places deep within the bowels of the earth, the Labyrinth is an almost living nexus of energies that manifests as a sprawling network of tunnels and passageways. The oldest have grown until they stretch for miles and miles beneath the ground, forming their own worlds and ecosystems layered beneath this one. The Labyrinth is a place of mystery, of wonder, and of power.

Protecting it from those who would exploit it, the Labyrinth Guardians are Minotaurs who have dedicated themselves to their primordial homes. Wandering the endless paths of the Labyrinth, they learn its secrets, regulate its growth, guard it from outsiders, and sing the ancient songs that can be felt resonating through the timeless stones. In turn the Labyrinth continues to protect and nurture the Minotaurs themselves, providing sanctuary within its depths. It is a lonely and unending task, but one essential to the preservation of their world.

Gorthúr is one such Guardian, dedicating his days to the quiet contemplation of the world that has given him birth and blessing. As quiet and gentle and unyielding as the rocks amongst which he dwells, he continues the sacred tasks of warding his home and his people from threats both without and within the crisscrossing paths of the Labyrinth.
