TRANSCRIPT

Between Jared, Lily, and myself, we discussed for hours on what I was to do. Ultimately, Jared realized something I couldn't see in myself. My fears for the safety of Lily and everyone else here won't let me be at peace. I wanted answers, and I wanted a means to stop this. Because if I truly am being hunted, I can't stay in one place for too long.

It wasn't what I wanted to hear, but he spoke the truth. My conscience would tear me down if I stayed, and I don't want to risk being wrong about all of this.

Lily was saddened, knowing that I was going to leave, but she reminded me that I could still try to find others like us. That I found her, and that I managed to survive what I have, I had it in me to keep going. Jared concurred, no doubt there were others out there. He offered safe haven for anyone I found in need, and he knew a good place to start searching.

The Nest, the pseudo capital of this post calamity Iron Province. An old Solar Updraft Tower that supplied power to most of the continent way back when. It's still functional, though now at a significantly reduced capacity. Still, it's enough to still power most friendly settlements in the continent, including the Well. It does require plenty of water to function, so safe trade routes have been set up along a northern passage through the Iron Valleys. Sadly, the next convoy isn't for another week, but another one destined for Glimmer up north can get me part of the way there.

Jared and Lily helped me restock, and Jared ensured I was compensated for my deeds. He also lectured me about Sol's many dangers. Lily gave me a pendant. She made it out of a lily flower charm that Jared gave her when she first arrived here. No doubt how she got her name. She wanted me to have it as a reminder of her. I also promised her that I will find others like us.

Saying goodbye was probably the hardest thing I've done yet. Seeing those two fade away into the distance was gut-wrenching, but I had to get moving. This convoy can take me near the passage through the valley, where it might then take me a week on foot.

I don't know what to expect when I arrive, but if the Nest is anything like what Jared tells me, it's probably the best place to start looking for others like me.


--Notes--

- Stay away from the cultists, and avoid any engagement at all costs. If one is hunting me, all will know I am a target.
- STEEL is still active on Sol, stay away from anyone associated at all costs.
- Sudden fog or green lights (often both), mean an Echo. Move slowly and stay calm.
- Stay off any road without any fresh vehicle tracks going both ways.
- Always have a reliable weapon in quick reach, and quickly drop my heavy backpack in a fight.

I'm sorry I couldn't stay, but maybe one day I can.
