Jefferson Smithsonian is an American politician who served as the president of the United States during the events of the Henry Stickmin series. As the de facto leader of the US Military, Smithsonian is in charge of all the members of the United States Government. During his presidency, Smithsonian was informed about Henry Stickmin, a thief responsible for the theft of the Tunisian Diamond, escaping a prison and breaking into a bank. He told the United States Government that he would pardon Stickmin and destroy all data collected on him if he co-operated with the Government to bring down the Toppat Clan. Smithsonian gave young and experienced pilot Charles Calvin the pardon note. After Reginald Copperbottom was arrested, Charles gives Henry Stickmin the pardon note from Smithsonian. A copy of Smithsonian's pardon note was given to Dmitri Johannes Petrov and Grigori Olyat by the Canadian government as part of a folder of pictures of Stickmin, who they planned on sending to their Wall complex as a convict (regardless if Stickmin was pardoned or not). After looking through the folder, Petrov and Olyat went through with the plan, locking Stickmin up at the Wall until he fled the complex.
