Some say that drakes count as dragons. I'm not one of those people.
I'll agree that they share the same shape and sometimes the same temperament. But a drake by my definitions is as follows.
They are smaller than dragons, possess none of the inherent ferocity or strength that they do. they have no magic, they have no breath weapons unless it's an offshoot of being an elemental, and most of the time they possess less intelligence than a dragon does.
That said, drakes are territorial, numerous, social, and cunning to a point of annoyance.
In my own artistry, dragonic characters might have the Dragonborn thing going on, as they might have a few humanoid characteristics for hybrids and metallic dragons. The rest, like this female earth drake, haven't got those characteristics.
I won't go as far into the "lizard with wings" territory as many would, as I think it's a stereotype, but I won't shirk of good design to begin with.
