Silly mood, and needing a little break from my storyboard. My husband may possibly not forgive me for this one... more likely he'll just shake his head and sigh because I did silly stuff again. He may appreciate the Superman cutie mark, though.
My sons Samuel and Matthieu will have a different reaction, though. Sam in blue loves bears and playing and tumbling and all things physical. Matthieu's favourite colour is pink, "but not that girl pink", and he's all about Bakugan, which is why his cutie mark is a Dragonoid.
Me, I've got a blue Colerase pencil. Goes with Kanthara's markers. ;)
Ponies are stupid easy to draw. SRSLY.

Because everybody's doing it. At this point it's become a meme. There are tons of people who've been drawing the thing having never seen the cartoon, because their friends have done it.
Plus it gets a reaction from the anti-pony people which makes it more fun to overpony. Get it?

well, theres 3 general groups I've noticed.
The first two I think Kanthra falls into (And a bit for me too for my icon right now):
-Actual fans of the show
-Bandwagon 'dawwhhh' meme
the third seems to be larger than both of these and that's the 4chan-followers who are doing it for, that ever so annoying phrase, the lulz.
I'm all for stopping group 3, but 1 and 2 provide some very amusing and cute things.

There are many reasons why a lot of us are into the show.
Personally, the writing totally got me hooked. The stories are fun, intelligent, teaches actual life stories and all that, without bashing in your head "HERE HAVE THE MORAL OF THE SHOW BASHED IN YOUR HEAD THE WHOLE TIME!"; it merely does it for a moment at the end of all episodes.
Not to mention, it's actually intelligent and has many geeky and/or pop culture references which are very entertaining.
The characters are all fun, too! They are NOT perfect. They all have flaws, one way or another. It makes the characters very believable and, unlike other shows, identifiable to. Maybe not completely identify to only ONE, but many things amongst many of the main (mane) characters are things one can see in themselves.
I got attached to the characters quite well because I see a little bit of myself in many of those (maybe except Rainbow Dash, which would explain why she's my favourite character). This makes me tune in the stories even more, which is rare nowadays for shows.
The characters are not completely typecasted either! They all have distinct personalities, too. I already mentioned that they are flawed, so not gonna repeat that (I just did).
Myself, I thought the first three episodes were the weakests. By episode 5, however, I was hooked.
Everyone has different reasons as to why they love the show. Those above are mine.
Your actual mileage may vary. :3

Certain words are close enough to English that the sense can be grasped:
"We zullen over de hele wereld"
We (will spread?) over the whole world,
"Onze grote leider, zal prinses Celestia"
Our great leader, the princess Celestia
"leiden ons naar de overwinning"
will lead us in the take over (over-winning)
see?

There are several episodes online. A quick google search will yield a ton of results. I've also watched a few with my boys, and I like that the moral is not heavy-handed, and the obvious attention given to the grownups who watch the show with their kids (or even without).
