Your friendly neighborhood panther here, reminding all you fuzzies out there that registration for CFT closes July 1st. So if you want to go, GO REGISTER!
What is campfire tails...?
CampFire Tails is all about getting outside and enjoying what Oregon’s ‘God’s Country’ has to offer. Fresh air, good food, clear running water, and lots and lots of sunshine all with the intentions of getting us fuzzies to unplug for a weekend and network with the analog components of nature. CFT strives to bring you, the user, to the woods and bring back a little bit of it with you.
CFT was started as a group outing in 2006 as a group camp out. Unorganized and totally not official, we had a total blast and decided to do it again the next year. The following year we did the campout and somehow ended up with nearly twice the number of campers. Suddenly we realized that we had the makings of something big!
In 2009 the first CFT was held at Dorina Lake with a total of forty campers. Again it was only an organized campout BUT we had the brilliant idea that we would start feeding our campers for a registration fee. While at the campout, spontaneous events and parties popped out of the millwork.
In 2010 CFT was now an official event with preplanned happenings, a real menu, and a whole lot of sunshine. From year to year, we successfully doubled our numbers and had to move from Dorena Lake to our now permanent location in the Oregon high desert just north of LaPine.
This year, we have set a registration cap of 120 campers simply because we need to test our new structure to handle so many furs. With added organization and events coordinators, we expect this year for you to choose your own adventure under the guidance of our experienced back trail hikers, hang at the communal tent, or bring a book and vege in the high Oregon Desert.
Now that you know a little more about us, how about you come out and let us get to know you!?
