Sup everybody! Here's an awesome new pic I got from  Jomaroart

It's a reference sheet of a new character I had designed by the name of "Lumi".

A curious explorer, Lumi is part of a race of galactic felines known as, "The Gelicles".

The Gelicles are a peace-loving race, known for both their inquisitive nature and peculiar physiology. Deemed a Level 3 biological lifeform, what makes the Gelicles so fascinating, aside from their entire bodies being comprised of a gel-like substance, is that every cell of theirs is its own sentient entity.

Part of the Directorate, the Gelicles were first encountered and uplifted by the Arcanians as they were exploring the Outer Reaches of the Aelurus Galaxy. Happening upon what appeared to be an oceanic world, the Arcanians were surprised to find that the entire planet wasn't covered by water but a mysterious gel-like substance they never encountered before.

While conducting numerous tests on the substance, the Arcanians found that it reacted not only to physical but also to audio and visual stimuli. When enough of the gel-like substance was gathered, the collection of it would move in response to how the researchers interacted with the container it was held in, even going as far as morphing into hands and mouths to imitate how it was touched or spoken to. Expounding on this observation, the Arcanians gathered even more of the gel-like substance, to the point that the samples they had could form bodies similar to their Arcanian observers - resulting in the first Gelicles to be created.

Now like a teacher educating a child, the Arcanians began testing the intellectual limits of the Gelicles, eventually finding that not only could they retain and demonstrate the knowledge they acquired, but also go as far as inquire on things they weren't shown, forming mouth and ears on their bodies to communicate with the researchers. What was even more interesting however was when cells from one Gelicle were taken and given to another, the recipient immediately acquired all the knowledge the previous Gelicle had.

Testing a hypothesis, the Arcanians returned the Gelicles they "raised" to their home planet, where they watched them meld and dissipate into the ocean surface, but then witnessed a hundred more Gelicles form out of the gel, each possessing the same level of intelligence as the ones they introduced back to the planet. As a result, the Arcanians concluded that each cell that comprised a Gelicle was able to retain the information the collective had gathered, meaning each cell was essentially a brain.

Once the newly formed Gelicles emerged from the planet, they were released into Arcanian society where they became a beloved member of the Directorate. Their attentive minds and curious nature made them well-received by the Arcanian populace. Enjoying research and hospitality roles, the Gelicles are both seekers of knowledge and experience. They, like the Arcanians, desire to learn as much as they can, but also to experience as much as possible - with each of their end goals being to return to their homeworld and meld into "The Vast Collective", where their cells and the cells of countless other Gelicles will merge and form new inquisitive Gelicles, acting as a sort of death and rebirth cycle.

Such is the fate of Lumi as well - but until that day, they're gonna learn and experience as much as they can about the universe around them. X3
