Figured I can show off the broad concepts and ideas about a setting by making small assortsments of character designs just to show what kind of people and creatures live in that world and to convey the general vibe.

So here are some sample characters from the Age of Mud and Bone:

One of the tree giants, or Oo-ah-a in their native tongue, who live in the canopies of gigantic trees. This one is a diviner, seeking the aid and advice of spirits on behalf of his community. Various potions and sacred incense allow for seeing visions of the far away lands or even glimpses of the possible future.

A warrior from the Split Skull tribe of homo. This tribe is known to be warlike and ferocious, and they think that a covering most fitting for a warrior are the bones of slain foes or prey.

Lastly, a brawler from the Death Skins tribe of zavra. They name themselves such for the warpaint they put on their bodies to demonstrate that they don't fear death. The tribe has a tradition of brawls, sometimes serving as sport and training, other times as competitions for status and renown, in which case the brawlers ingest concoction which enrages them and forces to fight like beasts to the death.
