In Star Trek: Lower Decks, the Targalus System, it is a home world of the Targalans were a spacefaring humanoid species native to Targalus IX. They were distinguished by orange skin, purple hair, and extremely long ears, the tips of which they typically tied together atop their heads. In 2382, the Targalans transitioned from a currency-based capitalist economy to a post-scarcity society after developing replicators. A planet-wide celebration was held on Targalus IX, featuring fireworks, a ticker tape parade using paper money as well as confetti, paper money bonfires, and commemorative t-shirts with slogans such as "no cash accepted" and "no money no problems". In addition, the Targalans joined the United Federation of Planets. The USS Cerritos was assigned to assist them in disposing of their obsolete wealth, including massive quantities of gold and gemstones. However, the former rich elite of the planet formed terrorist cells across the continent in a futile attempt to regain their power. One of these cells, a couple, abducted Ensigns Gorm and Mackler. Lieutenants jg Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler followed them to their mansion, where they found the ensigns apparently dead. The terrorists proved to be ill-prepared for their aims and fled the scene; it then emerged that Gorm and Mackler had faked their deaths via the bite of the tie-dyed coma beetle. After returning to the Cerritos, Mariner and Boimler gave D'Vana Tendi an idea of how to restore her family's recently lost financial status. House Tendi made an agreement with Captain Carol Freeman to take over responsibility for "disposing" of all the Targalans' wealth. As part of their post-capitalist transition, the Targalans converted all former financial structures, such as banks and stock exchanges, into public facilities like museums, meditation gardens, and animal hospitals. They had beer, and food resembling hamburgers that incorporated small lizard-like animals. The Targalans utilized anti-gravity vehicles such as hover-cars, hover-cruisers, and hover-vans, as well as airships. Other Targalan technology included disruptor weaponry and household servant robots with limited artificial intelligence. Targalus VII: A Cinnamon Satin T'kani Prime-like Planet with Valleys, Mountains, Cliffs, Jungles, Rainforests and 6 Moons. Colonized by United Federation of Planets, and Targalans in 2382 A.D.
Targalus VIII: A Red Mars-like Planet with 3 Moons
Targalus IX (Known as Targala): A Earth-like Planet with Bright blue sky, Seas, Mountains, Cliffs, Valleys, Forests, Jungles, Plains, Cities, Urbans, Skyscrapers, Museums, Meditation Gardens, Trees, Flowers, Houses, Hotels, Hospitals, Science Stations, Research Stations, Hangers, Cargo Bays, Apartments, Replicator Technology, Airships, Air Blimps, Hover Cars, Bridges, financial structures, Trains, Shopping Malls, City Halls, Factories, Money, Monorails, hover-cruisers, and hover-vans, Fireworks, technology included disruptor weaponry and household servant robots with limited artificial intelligence, was the inhabited ninth planet in its star system, and the homeworld of the Targalan civilization. Other lifeforms native to the planet included the tie-dyed coma beetle and a small lizard-like animal. In 2382, Targalus IX transitioned from a capitalist economy to a post-scarcity society with the development of replicator technology. Captain Carol Freeman eventually entered into an agreement, brokered by D'Vana Tendi, for House Tendi of the Orion Syndicate to take over the disposal process.
Targalus X: A Burnt Umber, Venetian Red, Middle Red, Middle Yellow Red Jupiter-like Gas Giant with 76 Moons.
Targalus X: A Blue IO-like Moon
Targalus X: A Orange Callisto-like Moon
Targalus XI: A Screaming Green Uranus-like Ice Giant with Planetary Ringed System and 26 Moons.
Targalus XII: A Improcco-like Planet.
-Targalus XII Minor: A Hoth-like Moon. Colonized by United Federation of Planets, and Targalans in 2382 A.D.
Targalus XIII: A Orange Nabatu-like Dwarf Planet.
Targalus XIV: An Purple Ulabos-like Dwarf Planet with Planetary Rings and 2 moons. Its rings are made up of Purple Ice Crystals and Dust. The United Federation of Planets and Starfleet Command U.S.S. Cerritos (NCC-75567) crossed Targalus XIII's orbit before Targalus XIV's Crystaline ring on its journey to Targalus IX. This may indicate that planet Targalus XIV is very far to Targalus IX’s sun than Obrian at some points in its orbit, similar to the orbits of Pluto and Neptune in Earth’s Solar System.
