Ryuuki's Special no.3
Chili Stir-fry Noodles with Smoked Sausage and Vegetables
Ingredients:
1 whole smoked sausage
1 1/2 tsp of cajun blackening seasoning
1 tsp of garlic powder, granulated
1 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of Lawry's seasoning salt
1 tsp of soy sauce
1 tsp of crushed red pepper
1 red and green bell pepper
1 white onion or 1 bundle of scallions
1 cup of julienne cut carrots
1 1/2 cups of broccoli florets
1 leaf of green leaf or romane lettuce
2 cucumber slices
Olive oil
Sriracha Chili Garlic Sauce
Thin spaghetti noodles or lo mein noodles
Utensils and supplies needed:
Wooden spoon
Pasta strainer
Fork
Paring knife and a larger knife for cutting meat
Cutting board
Large frying pan or wok
Pot for boiling noodles
Preperation and Cooking:
First, you want to cut all of your vegetables if they are not already pre-cut. Place them all off to the side once you've finished cutting them and then get your smoked sausage. Cut the sausage into then slices, about a quarter inch will be thick enough, and then sit them aside on your cutting board with the vegetables.
With your meat and vegetables cut, heat some olive oil in you wok or frying pan, and start boiling your water in your pot. Once both are hot (the oil will be hot first) put in your meat and vegetables. Make sure to stir and turn them often to make sure everything is evenly cooked and heated properly. Now add in your spices and soy sauce and let it cook. Turn your heat down once the vegetables are fork tender and add in Sriracha Chili Garlic sauce to taste. I add in a lot because I personally love spicy hot foods. Continue to stir until the sauce is mixed in completely and then turn your heat on low to keep it all warm.
While your vegetables and meat are cooking your noodles should be in the pot and boiling. Once they are soft, drain them in your strainer and rinse them in cold water for a few seconds. Now take your noodles and toss them into the pan with the meat and veggie mixture and turn up the heat slightly. Toss everything together until it is well mixed and heated thoroughly.
Once done, portion out a serving into a bowl and garnish with your lettuce leaf, bell pepper, and a pinch of crushed red pepper!
