Another piece of Small Saga fan art for you all, this time I drew Rosaline and Maisie from the Solhill segment of the game. I really liked this segment of the game and the character development and differentiation it showed between these two twins, I wont go into detail about it because I don't want to spoil the game just know that you should play Small Saga. For this piece I wanted to keep up my practice of background and I tried to focus on getting some texture on the background to make it feel more alive then just a simple plane. To accomplish this I tried to add little rocks of varied height all throughout the image and on the back wall, but I think I ended up making the rocks all look a little too similar so I'll have to try and mix things up a bit more next time. I also wanted to keep working on light shading on the characters, I feel I've gotten pretty ok at working in high contrast lighting like in my Mariel and Sela fan arts but these more low contrast scenarios I still struggle with the lighting a bit. In this piece I definitely feel like I made some progress but I'll have to keep working on it. I also need to figure something out with my tablet cause it's starting to go bad, for the past 6 months the left most 2 inches have been unusable (tablet refuses to acknowledge the pen when it's in that area) which is annoying since thats where my tool bar in Krita is and I'm petty enough that I refuse to move my Krita tool bar. But more importantly the hot keys are starting to go, the redo key on my tablet now only works sometimes, which is fine I can do that quick enough with my computer mouse, the real killer is the mirror key doesn't want to work so I can't easily mirror my canvas unless I go digging through Krita's menu's each time I want to do that. For now it's still usable but I'm going to be looking into saving up for a new one, if this one dies out on me completely I have a really old displayless tablet I could try or I might just migrate back to traditional art for a few weeks. I'm hoping my tablet doesn't die on me, or atleast waits until I have the cash for a new one (should only be like a month of saving so it's not too big a rush) but if it does atleast you all will know ahead of time why I suddenly switched to traditional. Anyhow that's everything I think I wanted to say for this piece.
Thank you for viewing my art
Have a wonderful day/night
