With a gentle flick of her ear, Whiskers seemed to smile more so as her halo settled into place. She was now one of Mandakatt's guardians, and she took her job very seriously....
Recently, I had to put down one of my companions. My oldest kitty, Whiskers. She lived a good long life - 20 years to be exact. She was my Auntie kitty, one of my Grams favorites, and it was like saying goodbye to the last member of my family. *chuckles and sighs a bit*
It was hard, but she's much better now. She's with my Auntie, Grams and Mom - where ever they may be, watching over me.
Again, Mel, thank you so much for this gift, it means so so much. <3

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this...but the design on her chest seems reminiscent of a heart, either part of her actual fur...or symbolism to show the love she had for you pet to owner; I can't put my finger on it...perhaps I'm thinking too hard about it.
Either way this is a lovely, and ultimately touching pic. I know your cat truly is out there watching over you, proud that she had such a loving owner. Reminds me of our old family cat named "Princess" who was 20 in human years when she died...she was a wonderful cat and it's never easy to lose a pet.
