"He is part wolf."
This scene always got me as a kid (still do) . Poor Balto. He is a good dog. Sure hybrids can have trouble with people (they are more wolf so they prefer the company of dogs or wolves instead) but Balto clearly has a dog-brain.

Also, it's ironic how nowadays everyone wants a pet wolf dog. Those times in which the movie takes place were just full of superstition, like in Wolfwalkers, in which wolves were only seen as vicious beasts. Hence, Balto suffers the outcast hero syndrome, a typical cliché in wolf movies.
