The colors and brush strokes in the background are just mmff and the glow that's lighting up his handsome face contrasts it so perfectly.
The highlights on his hair from the glow also look really nice, especially the ones that are lineless cause it makes it look more 3D.... I love it. Also you know just where to blur areas to make the image (the branches/tree, leaves) and it really gives this a focused 3D image look.
