So what is a Necessarius, anyway? It's Latin meaning is a close friend or familiar. As tradition, many Houses will appoint a Necessarius. Someone who has proven loyal beyond doubt to the family, the chosen right-hand man. Butler, chauffeur, manager, assassin and what have you, rolled into one. Sometimes the Necessarius will even be allowed to marry into the family, some even take over as sovereign should there be no suitable heir.
