the first row is based on something that happened here, where I assumed a language barrier was at fault (though i did not actually ask if the person was in a cult), and the second from me complaining/seeking clarification on the only accessible point I could find, an associated reddit page, and seeming to still have a language barrier with several people (represented by a single creature here) who speak the same language as me, which I by now realize is pretty standard for reddit.
i made this mostly in december 2023 and then remembered it when putting together the video last week. it was in my 2024 folder as if i intended for me to remember it earlier.
Do many people use skeb? i suppose it is good to have a more obvious signal than in the past that I absolutely should not attempt to buy from them. It is good for customers who don't care what they get and for artists who don't care if their customers care, which I guess is a lot of people. I don't understand those who think late 1990s american cable tv animation was an aesthetic pinnacle to lament the decline of either. I shouldn't care but I can't stop caring where I shouldn't.

i understood trying to facilitate a monetary transaction without the involved parties needing to contact each other, but FORBIDDING contact of any sort seems sinister, to me. But I do not know that it was being explained to me properly, either, considering that the information was coming from persons who had flagrantly incorrect ideas of what I had just said.
ah ha apparently there IS a "skeb coin" but as far as I am aware (which is minimally) nobody is required to use it. I tried looking at the instructions for "creators" which are much more complicated than the ones for buyers, but do not SEEM to mention skeb coin, though repeatedly allude to "kyash" as an option without elaborating on what kyash is.
I have not seen it many times! I think what is supposed to happen is that people go to the skeb website first, with the intent of using it prior to choosing someone to buy from. Artists probably don't USUALLY say "open for commissions!" on sites like this one and then try to funnel buyers through a service where they have no rights as if that is how it always works.
Skeb does sound... interesting, but also too tricky to risk trying to navigate.
Reddit is Reddit, for better or worse. Most Reddit communities have their resident posters whose preferred flavor about everyone and everything is "salty," but it also has megafucktons of trolls, and some user-created subs are more toxic than a nuclear waste dump. If those subs stay mostly insular, they'll stick around. If they go "brigading" (that is, organizing groups of users to go to other subs and troll or be assholes) the whole sub will get the boot, as infamously happened with the massive sub dedicated to The Spray-Tanned On which, of course, couldn't keep its hands to itself.
