What do I do when I am not drawing and posting here? Mostly trying to do 10 things at once with my other talents and/or doing more practice drawings.
I have not really drawn anything in the last few weeks and wanted to get to some commissions that have been lingering. This was a warm up to whip me back into shape.
It may look blotchy all over the place because I purposely only wanted to spend 20 minutes on it. It ended up being around 40-45, but I could have put in probably several hours to nic-pic it until every line was straight. This helped me learn many new things.
This was NOT out of my own head. I am sure if you search for Dodge Charger on Google, the original image would come up. I did not draw the people because I did not feel that was my focus of the image. I will probably look back at this a week from now and think it looks like shit, BUT hay, that means I am learning! :)
Enjoy!
And, if you are just watching me for just the cock, tough it. :P

Hay! I got a response from you!
Seriously though, yeah... it's been my biggest hinder to get any of my talents as a career which would be much more fun than making pizzas forever on minimum wage, lol!
I am great at many talents, but not super excellent in any of them. :\

Boxy should be easier! You pretty much have to put anything you are drawing in it's own "bounding box" and draw within that for your object. Car, house, even a lamp on a desk (and the desk! :O ).
I thought of you and Sohjin when I was drawing this. I figured if I even got a comment, it would have to be from either of you! xD
Thanks for the comment!

Ohh yeah would make sence, I think with me though and my lack of knowlege of art rules lol, the first car I ever tried drawing very often was this http://www.ssip.net/upload/aston-ma.....-front-2_4.jpg So when I'm trying to draw cars, those smooth flowing beautiful lines are easy for me, but one time I tried to draw a hummer and ohh god XD
And yeah, Sohjin will really like seeing this when he gets on FA :3

very solid coloring approach. Very good use of specular and reflective lighting set up. Is this from reference I take it? you put in the background right?
the sunset seems misplaced as a lighting source. well maybe ... it's not the sun but right behind the car is what feels like the sun. The lighting on the car feels as though the lightsource should be a sunset off the left screen. Just a thought. Good stuff for a speedpaint for sure.

Info is in the description and that's how the lighting was in the image.
Reflections are weird, especially for things like vehicles (clean ones xD ). I just think of it like a spoon. Where ever you look into the spoon, your eye sight reflects off the surface and hits a point causing the reflection. For spoons, the image is inverted. I am not the best at explaining for subjects I am do not 100% understand, so bare with my example, lol.
The light source is that weird light purple/yellowish color. The lighting on the other side of the vehicle is "reflection" (the sky), not the light source.

I suggest doing it even if you think it looks like crap. I drew some tanks the other day and I have never drawn them before. Trust me, they were not even up to par to this. The more you do it, you start to learn where the details are and what details you can use and do not need to use. ESPECIALLY taking it from a speed paint approach, you do not have time to think about the details... just shooting for form (yes, does not just apply to living things! :D ).
You have to get the crappy/practice/study drawings out of the way first before you can do the awesome ones! :)

I did look and it was pretty easy to find: http://www.skinz.org/cars/dodge-cha.....llpapers-2.jpg
Your effort to duplicate this is rather fantastic, and I have to say along with most others that I thought this was a photograph from the thumbnail.
