One sunny morning in the Kanto region, Misty decided it was time for a walk along the coast. As the leader of the Cerulean Gym and a lover of water-type Pokémon, it was his favorite time of day to explore and meet new sea creatures. Misty carried her special fishing net, ready for any adventure.

While strolling along a small dock, he saw a flash of gold in the water. His heart skipped a beat. "A golden Magikarp? It's a shiny!" she thought excitedly. Without thinking twice, he threw his rod into the water.

They both stared at each other. Misty, impressed by the Magikarp's bravery, took out a Poké Ball.

—You're incredibly resilient, you know? I think you would be a great partner.

He threw the Poké Ball, and the Magikarp did not resist. With a flash, he was captured.

—I did it! —Misty exclaimed, raising the Poké Ball in the air.
