One Year (and also Happy New Year!) on FurAffinity! I joined on New Year's Day last year, in 2024. To commemorate the occasion, I slightly redrew and recolored my Avatar picture (of Gio) and changed the font to a futuristic, 80's style geometric silhouette font that I drew into the picture (It's supposed to be the future, in the 21st Century, right? So it should look like it, too - should it not?). I also added in the gradient lines in the letters to really sell the 80's aesthetic (look), along with the neon colored border (with pink, yellow, and orange as the colors on said picture border).
As usual, I tinted the picture at 64 Red, 16 Green, (a brown color comparable to milk chocolate) from 50% Luminescense - which also unintentionally adds to the 80's aesthetic by reducing the excess blue saturation in modern pictures that is a dead giveway that it was drawn or taken in the present day, presumeably on a digital device - like a computer (obviously), or a digital camera.
I drew the picture on Microsoft Paint (the Windows XP version), and added the screen blur effect, also on Microsoft Paint (the Windows 11 version - with no internet connection and saving the file and resetting the app before turning the internet connection back on to upload it to here, due to the privacy issue of the Windows 11 Microsoft Paint app saving data without you knowing - unless you check the app's settings in App Settings).
Also unintentional, but cool, I saved the picture as a GIF file (from Microsoft Paint) which makes the picture look exactly like an old photograph with imperfections and color spotting - which combined with the brown tint and screen blur just so happens to match the look (aesthetic) of an old photograph from the 80's that I was going for (think Polaroid, Kodak, etc) - and it also doubles as an anti-AI (Algorithmic Imitation, not Artificial Intelligence) layer along with the previously added screen blur. I like it when form follows function - as that's the whole point of art, isn't it?
