Yes, you can do your own decals! Here is who I commissioned to cut this one for me:

Basically, how this works, is that you send him a vector art design, he cuts it out of a thin, sticky plastic. He sends you the finished decal. There is a layer of tape over the decal and the backing paper. You peel away the backing and put it where ever you want it, rubbing it down with a stiff credit card. Once you have the whole thing stuck, peel away the tape that is over the decal and it is stuck! :D That's how we used to make signs at the sign shop. I can help you put one on your car if you want.
Oh, and he can do lettering, too. :)
