"Good evening and welcome. I am Quinnick. No. No. Not the skeleton. The one in the jar."
"Yes. That's me. I was-and officially still AM-the head butler of Verwood Manor. How did I come to be this way, you ask? Well, I'm afraid that's a long story. And, sadly, while I could string a narration like knitting a pair of pantaloons, there is too short a time for that. But, I will freely admit that I happened to have been one of the most faithful and, if I may say, dashing servants Verwood had ever seen."
"If I still had a face, you would see how genuine I am about that."
"You must forgive the state of things. The current mistress of the house is away and has left the new staff in charge. I am referring to the walking piles of bones in servants uniforms, like these two. The new mistress is a gifted necromancer who thought to put some of the scattered remains of former residents to better use."
"Personally, I see it as more like cheap labor."
"Please, feel free to enjoy your stay and to hear the tales of the new mistress and the many 'unique' residents that come to stay at Verwood. Be warned, though. The manor has a chilly history, as well as a few mysteries. If you're not careful, you may wind up staying longer than you wish."
