Another doodle of a Javaso herdrek, wanted to draw a thing I hinted at in the text which is conflict
As conflict, conflict never changes, as there is a a variety of tribal groups in the Logáu spine that are quite conflict prone. As there are a lot of concentrated resources, particularly mineral resources that everyone wants access to, that different dens or tribes or cultures take control of. Additionally there is often a lot of conflicts between the more mobile Javaso and the more sedentary Põga of the mountains of their particular stretch, with bickering and even both ceremonial and full on conflict boiling up every now and again between various dens of Javaso and Põga groups Usually arguments about improper herding leading to birds eating crops, or about Põga inseculturalists and farmers taking up good grazing lands that were previously managed by the javaso
So sometimes violent skirmishes happen between easy to anger dens before larger clan politics can kick in to bring things down a notch.
Usually for the Javaso, much like many other dragons, they employ the weapons of their day to day life, namely staff slings both in the classic sense and with a modified dart launching staff sling. IE a dart made front heavy with large fletchings and a clay bulb, tipped with a bone point lined with obsidian flakes or a metal point, is launched with a staff sling at a relatively flat trajetory towards a target. Generally regularly staff slings are more common with these more painful projectiles being reserved for larger animals or for conflict. They're made in pretty small numbers
You would likely see more rock huckers than dart chuckers but you probably don't wanna find out what it feels like to have a weighted dart lodge itself into your flank.
And there are also daggers
Most Javaso daggers would likely be bifacial obsidian, though as stalbronze metallurgy gets introduced into the region their may be a partial transition into stãlbronze and stãlndao copper daggers. They are general tools for cutting that also tend to get used as self defense weapons from wildlife, bandits, or warriors of a disagreeable community. They also tend to be seen as items associated with prestige, hence why the bronze ones started to spread before other metal tools
Showing off a nice dagger is a cultural way of saying "I'm a big bad tough little guy and you shouldn't fuck with me Bro"
maybe not too deep in symbolism, but not everything is a deep symbol, sometimes the symbolism is very straightforward
Anywho yeah!
the Javaso are certainly a kind people, as are the Põga, they also just may not like eachother half the time and sometimes riley young adults may start fights that cause political crisis in the mountains, such is life.
