Sadly, reminds me of my dad. Example; my sister gets in a near-fatal accident, breaks her neck, glass imbeded the whole length of her left arm. Usual funness of being in a car that rolled ten times going about 70 mph. First thing my dad does when he walks in the intentsive care room is look around at all the machines then ask my sister, "So, how are you going to pay for all of this?" Yeah, love my family.

Insensitive family members can truly put a damper on everything, or make an already bad situation horrible. Unfortunately, can't choose your family. (Alternately, the family you choose is called 'friends', depending on how you want to see it.)
