In a light golden color, the sunlight fell through the windows of the large library and gave the large table a dull sheen. It stood unused in a larger area adjacent to the main room. Close-meshed wooden grilles separated the room, which was obviously not accessible to the usual guests.
Two people were standing near the table. A dwarf and a grasxe. A metal construction was flying next to the two of them. The round, angular body had short wings on each side and a purple round lens was attached to the middle, pointing forward. The slightly reflective surface was aimed at the grasxe. Rattling, this thing beats its short wings hastily and hovered motionless in the air. The small man wore a brown leather apron with many bulbous, full pockets. Metal tools and parts were clearly visible in some of them. His thick, well-groomed beard hung down to below his belt and on his head he had a wide metal ring with several crystal lenses attached to it. Small hinges held them in position in front of his left eye. Grumpy, he looked concentratedly through the lenses at the flying construct. The grasxe was noticeably larger. With the scaly armored head and yellow, lidless eyes, she cast a grumpy look into the room. She exhaled a muffled breath from her nostrils. The massive growths on her arms and legs were clearly visible under her clothing. Her physical appearance was very bulky, but feminine features were still evident in her posture and the proportions of her body. She wore a multi-part leather outfit that was tight around her body. Over that was a thin fabric tunic. Blue-green stripes ran across it in elongated patterns and on her chest was a golden shield crest. The symbols of the five guardiandragons were arranged in a circle.
She snorted angrily and rubbed her forehead in annoyance. "I'm going to puke!" she shouted loudly into the room in her strong voice. "When he talked of a special task, I didn't expect such a crap ..." Her field of vision wandered uncertainly to the flying construct that had its front lens aimed directly at her. "Wait?! Is that thing already on?" she asked in surprise. The dwarf next to her just nodded silently. "Hhrrrgg!" she groaned frantically and angrily.
Her facial expression changed frighteningly quickly. Her forehead plate rose slightly and a faint gleam appeared in her eyes as the corners of her mouth turned upwards. With nimble gestures she waved one hand in front of her face. "Welcome back to Philomena's gossip corner!" she began cheerfully and looked into the lens with a grin. Her voice now sounded much more melodic than before. "We're here live from a nice little corner, right in the heart of the Mages Guild. The clever ones among you have surely already noticed." She raised her hand in a know-it-all manner with her clawed finger outstretched. "Quite right! The Guild of the Three Towers!" She quickly held both hands open and pointed forward. "But wait! We're not here today because of the nice atmosphere or the dusty books behind me." She looked suggestively into the lens with a grin. The dwarf pulled a slight face and rolled his eyes, but carried on silently and guided the construction around the grasxe. She swung her clawed finger around and around. "Today we're going to get up closer and a bit more personal with a special dragon. This one made it to the final selection without much difficulty!" The mechanical thing flew up to the corner of the room and aimed the lens at the middle. "And the local archmage has made this lovely room available to us for this." The lens flew close to the grasxe again. "I 've picked out some nice questions and there are some of yours too." Tilting her head slightly to the side, she raised her finger to her mouth. "Unfortunately, the only thing that is missing right now is our guest of honour."
From the main room, many curious faces were already looking next door and listening to what was going on.
A dragon suddenly sat in the doorway, looking confidently into the room and at this one-sided conversation. He had silver-grey scales that were more plate-like across his back and abdomen. These were also much darker in colour. He wore a red marking cloth around the neck. The symbols and name on it were not visible, because they disappeared into a fold of the fabric. The cloth also covered an elongated, dark break in his scale plates. Only a small part of this scar was visible. Also noticeable was the red griffin feather that was attached to his left horn. Behind him, a red-and-black feathered gryphon looked around the corner in surprise. With the crest raised, she peered curiously at the dragon.
"Can I help you?" the grasxe asked interrupting, giving the dragon a quick look. The silver-gray dragon confidently took a step into the room. "If you need a guest of honor, then maybe I can..." "Get out, Ralyr!" another dragon interrupted him from behind and pushed him lightly to the side with his shoulder. "They're here because of me."
