Melody once saw Koron and Montrose at the Royal Forestry Academy, training some recruits in ways to help protect the forests. She had also seen Sindra and other various healers and medics practicing their skills and decided that this was her future.
Melody learned forestry and martial skills quickly enough. She also mastered The guitar and took up singing, which entertained her dorm-mates. Her magical training, even with the help of veteran magical instructors, floundered. During a semester break, she visited the forest where her inspiration lived. She was attempting to help Sindra with some minor healing task when Sindra's magic and Melody's magic collaborated and they both found the healing magic working by itself. Since then, Melody has mastered Sindra's diagnostic abilities and even learned some of Breezer's combat spells. She still needs assistance and magical guidance to get her spells to function the way she wants. Her instructors feel it's just a matter of practice and continued exposure to her friends' more hands on techniques.
