With the taur being a space god, perhaps they extended some divine protection to Demi so the black hole impact was more just a case of getting stunned and knocked back similar to the lasers on Roia. Though being a kindly and benevolent space god he also wants to boost Demi and it's true that he is a rather tough fellow.
