dreamesque had not only dreamed but created this stunning smoothie saturated in strawberries. YUum
Ingredients:
3/4 c. Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt
3/4 c. Low Fat Milk (I used 1%)
1 c. Strawberries
1 c. Ice (Approx. 8 large cubes)
Combine all ingredients into a blender. Blend until thoroughly mixed.
Yields three 8 oz. servings.
Being from the southeastern United States, where strawberries are currently in season, I definitely enjoy my fair share of strawberry-related goodies. Among my favorites is a good, homemade smoothie. The low fat vanilla yogurt lends just the right amount of sweetness, while allowing the flavor of fresh strawberries to shine through. (Don't worry, if strawberries aren't currently in season where you are, you can substitute 1 c. thawed strawberries from your freezer aisle.)
This basic recipe can be made into a quick dessert drink by adding a drizzle of chocolate syrup and dollop of whipped cream for a taste reminiscent of chocolate-covered strawberries in a glass.
