To avoid detection and enslavement, Eve willingly severed herself from the collective hivemind of the Vortigaunts and fled to Earth when it became clear that Xen was longer safe for her to remain. The tattoos covering her body glow with the vortessence flowing through her, giving her an odd appearance, even among her peers.
